We are all happy. Larry is writing his third novel which is more than Leslie has read. And Les has a girlfriend,Daphne,but won’t let us meet her. Margo had ditched her boyfriend,Zoltan,because we begged her to. And Gerry,as ever,prefers his animal family to his human one.
I have given up searching for love,so,with all my new free time,I’m think of learning the harp or getting a cello between my legs.
Time just for me. It’s gorgeous here.
妈妈在剧集开始时实在草地上写给姑妈的信，妈妈在信里说：Larry开始他的第三部小说啦，那句Larry写的书比Leslie读过的书都多哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈真的是亲妈本妈了，我们傻二Leslie交了女朋友啦，Margo 分手啦，Gerry还是爱着他的动物们啦，而我，以及放弃爱情这部分啦，有这功夫我去学弹琴啦。开篇一封信，把大家又迅速地拉近到Durrells 一家的故事里。
（哈哈哈哈哈哈其实摘抄这封主要是因为这段学习价值指数爆表，包含有现在进行时，一般现在时，现在完成时，一般将来时，过去完成时，一般过去时等丰富的知识点哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈）

You go straight into the lead.
单纯被这句戳到笑点了，就是妈妈Louisa和司机Spiro假装路过教堂到Leslie的女友之一Tsanta那里，去会会傻二的小女友时说的。Tsanta见到Louisa一通夸赞之后，妈妈说“你真上路子”哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈笑死。

Spiro : Daphne’s tough because her father is a gangster. (Louisa:what ? Well , why you didn’t say before ?)You can’t pick your daddy. Dionisia,I think,lives for now and does what comes naturally. Tsanta is a sweet peasant girl who keeps her knees together.
Louisa : I think I’ve made my own mind up. I just want Leslie to find someone who’ll love him like I loved my husband.
司机sipro简单地评价了Leslie的三个女朋友之后妈妈Louisa说她只希望Leslie能找到爱他的姑娘。（很喜欢面包店姑娘啊，活在当下的美丽）

Leslie is less strong-minded that he seems.

Louisa: Please sort out my children. And as you can’t decide which of your girlfriends you prefer,Aunt Hermione will do it. Right here. Right now.
Hermione: you see, I wouldn’t dream of policing anybody’s family or romantic life. When it comes to love, we are all beginners. You see, my visits here have taught me that the world is too lovelier place to be a dictatorship. Honour others, be kind, but obey only the whisperings of your own soul.
Louisa: Auntie, you used to be so blunt and clear about everything.
Hermione: oh dear, this place has changed me. I’m like a dog who wonders why she spent so long barking. Leslie, I’m sorry your dilemma was so publicly exposed, but better to live excessively than not to live at all. Anyway I’m glad to be among you again.
Larry: welcome back. We’re been following your return on a map.
这一段是我们傻二的三个女朋友被家人阴差阳错地同时剧集到了家中，我们的傻二懵逼了。在大家茫然的时候姑妈Hermione来了，妈妈Louisa请求姑妈帮忙解决问题，但是姑妈说在爱情面前我们每个人都是初学者，她不想干涉浪漫情怀，生活是可爱的，应该心怀善意遵从内心。
之后姑妈Hermione又对我们的二哥Leslie贴心地说即便是放纵地生活也好过从来没活过。

Leslie: I know I shouldn’t have had three girlfriends but I was just waiting for natural wastage as they realised I’m not that special.
Louisa: But you are, Leslie, in your way.
Leslie: With my plan, I would have been left with the keenest one—least likely to cheat on me. Now I have nobody.
Louisa: But you will. Somewhere out there, there’s a girl who will cherish you, and love you even more than I do. And I will look at the two of you with joy and my work will be done.
Leslie: No. I’ll just stay at home with you.
Louisa: oh Leslie, you’re kind,sweet boy.
啊啊啊啊啊啊这一段的二傻Leslie真的是很甜很甜了。Leslie愧疚地说自己交往三个女友不对，他在等她们自然而然地消耗掉最初的好感，然后她们会发现他并不特别之后离开他。妈妈Louisa说会有爱人出现的并在将我会看着你们一起幸福地生活下去。之后我们傻二说，不，我会在家里陪着你的。很贴心了。

Theo: We can see clearly that Larry has broken his mmmmmm record for how low pain threshold is. I suspect he has a torn muscle.
哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈这段超搞笑的，Larry以为自己摔断了腿找theo拍X光片，拍完之后，theo拿着片子说，腿不腿的没什么好说的倒是Larry的痛阈值底线被摔的稀碎。
8.
It’s very aging,parenting.
好朋友Florence生完孩子后的感慨，养育孩子让人变老。

Louisa: Auntie reminded me last night that all that matters is that we love each other and let each other know in whatever way we find possible.
Leslie: I do it by protecting us all with my guns.
Larry: I’ll dedicated my next book to you all.
Margo and Gerry: We will promise we’ll try not to talk to you so much in the future.
以及第一集最后，闹剧结束家人坐在一起吃饭，妈妈说爱彼此是最重要的事情，二哥Leslie 说他用枪保护大家，大哥Larry说他用下部书记录大家，女儿Margo和小儿子Gerry表示会尽量少给大家添堵。哈～第一集在晚饭里结束啦。
